Is anyone aware of Delcampe's polices in dealing with sellers who collect money and then refuse to supply goods but continue to operate unhindered? Email messages to Delcampe Support have not provided any answers.
I purchased 2 items from a seller in Singapore 2 months ago. I received an invoice after 2 days and paid via Moneybookers including registered postage within 24 hours. When nothing arrived after a month, I sent reminder Emails both direct and through Delcampe but all have been ignored. When I registered a dispute, again the seller refuses to respond. On checking his feedback I find there are numerous complaints and feedback (using very strong language) from buyres that have had exactly the same experience indicating that this seller collects payments and supplies items selectively and when items are not supplied never responds to Emails. He ignores Delcampe's dispute resolution mechanisms.
He is an active seller with currently more than 500 items on offer so many more buyers are likely to get burnt - at least 3 this month alone based on his August feedback. Should his account no be suspended?
I will post negative feedback in the next few days but that does not seem to bother the seller so long as he supplies most buyers and takes money without supplying goods from only a few thereby still giving him a respectable positive feedback percentage overall (98% with 2667 sales). Also I expect that when I do post negative feedback he will suddenly respond with his own unjustified negative feedback and there goes my own 100% positive feedback. I've asked Delcampe support whether there is any protection against this but no response.
I can accept that I've lost my money. More annoying is the fact that the seller continues to get away with his practices.
All very disappointing given all the other positive aspects of using the auction site.

Sorry to say, but I agree with Mace.
I now stick to the same sellers if I can, knowing that I am confident with their service
If I do see items I am interested in and I have never dealt with them before, then I look with great detail in their feedback and if there is any doubt I just don't bid
I only do this because I too have had dealings with a poor seller who offered NO communication what-so-ever into goods he never sent and I felt I was beating my head against the wall when it came to Delcampes support...and YES that seller is still trading....even after complaints from me and others
Delcampe is a fantastic site, but I think as it grows then this problem will grow....not only with sellers but also with buyers and there needs to be limits to the number of complaints each member recieves
It's bad enough not getting the goods and it offers no comfort when you get very little support either

Surely the answer is - Only buy from sellers with GOOD Feedback
